Elderhostel was honored to receive a generous bequest from the estate
of Bonita A. Moyer, “Bonnie”.

An avid Elderhostel participant
and traveler, Bonnie especially enjoyed programs near her home in
Findlay, Ohio, and far away in Europe.
Bonnie had a lifelong passion for learning. When
she attended the University of Findlay, during the depression, she
did not have the opportunity to pursue a degree. She did, however,
participate in adult education classes at local colleges and Elderhostel.
Bonnie made retailing her career. She worked
at Uhlman’s Clothing Store for 54 years, advanced to
|
District Director, and retired at age 78. She was
involved in several community organizations focused on the advancement
of women in the workplace. “Bonnie was a wonderful lady with a
great sense of humor” said a friend. She
loved traveling, photography, poetry, and theater in New York City.
Bonnie is remembered for her love of education
and travel and her commitment to her community and enhancing women's
career opportunities. Bonnie’s bequest to Elderhostel was given
as a percentage of her residuary estate. It expressed her deep appreciation
for the opportunity to learn and explore through Elderhostel’s
educational programs.
