Road Scholar/Elderhostel is seeking bright, detail and growth oriented
professionals for Operations Associates to work from our downtown Boston
headquarters. In this entry-level position, Associates will work closely with
program managers, our marketing and participant services departments, and the
network of independent travel and educational organizations with which
Elderhostel develops and operates its programs. Associates coordinate and
maintain program and user information within our system applications, assist
users with questions regarding our applications and websites, and oversee the
coordination of mailings to program participants.
Specific responsibilities in this multi-faceted, high-volume department include:
• Assist with the collection and coordination of product information
for Road Scholar/Elderhostel programs, including proofing, editing
and approval decisions. This detailed program information is the
primary resource for our participants and our advisors who field
over 400,000 calls annually.
• Assist field office staff and program managers with Road
Scholar/Elderhostel intranet and computer applications questions
and problems.
• Coordinate program material mailings to participants prior to
program departure
• Provide assistance in procedure, policy and systems inquiries
• Maintain accurate field office and international coordinator contact
information
• Assist with participant registration activity as necessary during
high volume times, providing a high level of customer service as
defined by: a positive attitude, an efficient and adaptable approach,
a polite, caring and professional telephone manner
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager or the Director of Program
Operations
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent work experience in a professional setting considered
• Strong proof-reading and writing skills
• Attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines
• Superior organizational skills; ability to retain, organize and access large amounts of information
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Extensive PC experience a must; comfort and proficiency using Word, Excel, Adobe and database applications
• Polished verbal, written and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team
• High-energy; highly productive; reliable; quality driven
