SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This Graphic Designer/Production Artist position requires a highly motivated person with
outstanding design and quick production skills. An interest in marketing objectives and
creating web and print design with our demographic in mind is a must. Strong desire to
implement new tools, technologies, and ideas. Interest in Interactive Marketing channels
such as Search Engine Optimization, targeted emails, web content, PPC ad campaigns and
more. Creative with strong written and interpersonal communication skills. Opportunity
to work on and design solutions for print, web, email, and interactive communications.
This position requires that you be self-motivated with a positive attitude. Work
collaboratively with writers, designers and project managers to execute strategy.
Juggling projects is the norm so time management and maintaining schedules are key.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND COMPETENCIES
• BA or BFA degree in graphic design, or similarly relevant degree
• Two+ years of experience in a full-time design and/or production
position, as part of a busy marketing or communications department
• Macintosh software proficiency in Dreamweaver, Quark Xpress, InDesign,
Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat a must; some proficiency in Flash a
plus; proficient use of style sheets, layers, key command shortcuts, etc.;
strong typographical skills
• Good understanding of commercial printing processes (CMYK) and creating
print-ready files
• Ability to work from concept to delivery quickly and proactively while
taking direction
• Willingness to learn and switch gears when necessary
• Maturity and polished communication skills required; strong team player;
energetic collaborator; ability to create and maintain positive working
relationships
• Detail-oriented and quality-driven with proofreading and troubleshooting skills
• Proven skill in time management; willingness to do whatever it takes to
accomplish projects
• Interest in educational travel or non-profit preferred
