Title: Human Resources Assistant
Reports to: Vice President of Human Resources
Location: Boston, MA
Status: Full-time professional position

We are looking for a bright, focused college graduate to join Elderhostel in this entry-level Human Resources Assistant position. Prior knowledge of Human Resources is not as important as desire for advancement and willingness to work hard for it. Several members of our management team have built their careers with us from the ground up and we strive to give our entry-level employees that same opportunity.

The Elderhostel Human Resources Department’s mission is to provide the most open, productive and healthful environment to enable all employees to do their best work. The Human Resources Assistant will be a part of this environment in Elderhostel’s downtown Boston headquarters office. S/he will be responsible for assisting members of the Human Resources team in implementing HR initiatives.

Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in recruitment, scheduling interviews and selection of applicants for job openings
• Prepare offer letters and collateral materials
• Maintain employee benefits records
• Liaise with payroll and other accounting departments
• Maintain HR database and assist staff with HR-related questions
• Assist in the coordination of various HR programs

Education, Experience and Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Ability to work for any US employer indefinitely without sponsorship
• One year or internship experience in an administrative capacity
• Demonstrated attention to accuracy, quality and detail required; focused; productive
• Flexible; able to juggle several tasks
• Polished speaker, writer and telephone communicator a must as well as professional demeanor;   outgoing but not chatty
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to interface with all levels of   employees important
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook required
