From Stanley Miller, President
International Association of Universities of the Third Age
I am very pleased to announce that, as today, February 17th 2008,
www.aiuta.org the newly designed
IAUTA – AIUTA website, will be up and running.
Those familiar with the previous IAUTA website, either under the same
name aiuta.org or as aiuta.assoc.fr or even aiuta.org/z
, will recognize a number of familiar features but also note the absence
of some others. This is either because items are now out of date,
or await translation or uploading to the new website.
The website has a dual function: it provides a source of information
and a link between members of the IAUTA family; and it acts as a showcase
for those unfamiliar with the role played by the Association in the
increasingly important field of later life learning.
A particularly important part of the website is that devoted to the
IAUTA Conference. Not only is there a review of past conferences but
also details of the 2008 conference to be held in Turin, Italy in
September.
IAUTA is grateful to Tom Holloway whose hard work as volunteer “webmonger”
has not only involved many hours of attention to the detail of the
various items (in two languages) but also to all the complicated business
of the handover from AG2R, our partner in Paris, France.
Please do let us know what you think of the newly refurbished website
– your critical comments will help us to properly reflect the
views of members and newcomers alike. (Content to s.miller4@btinternet.com-
