This fall, members of the Jefferson Institute for Lifelong Learning
in Virginia are taking part in a series of six discussions on a variety
of topics. The discussion group is a new concept for JILL, and will provide
a format for active learning. Here is what they will be discussing:
American Economic Disparity: Is There Need for a Minimum Wage?
X-Raying Op-Eds: Argumentation in a Nutshell
Confronting the Past, Living in the Present:
Memories of the Holocaust in Contemporary Berlin
China: Its World-View, History, Culture and Language
Alternative Energy Sources and Energy Conservation
Global Warming
In order to increase the value of the discussion there may be required/suggested
reading for some classes. The discussion group is limited to 18.
