The Learning in Retirement, Inc. program in Athens, GA holds a regular
Lunch & Learn series on Mondays. This past fall they covered the
following topics:
Bones and Locomotion – One of the rules of anatomy is
“function follows form.” Following that guidepost applied
to humans as well as animals, the lecturer gave participants an over
view of the osteology of selected mammals. He then demonstrated how
form tells us about how different animals move, complete with lessons
for the listeners.
Confessions of an Aging Bibliophile: A Life in Books –
The lecturer, a retired English professor, talked about reading, life-changing
books, and the rigorous demands and the delight that can be expected
when we read good literature.
The American Woman: Who Will She Be? – A past State
Representative, as well as an academic, the lecturer discussed the
role of today’s modern woman.
Who Done It? – A forensic scientist delved into the
intricacies of forensic science and its role in solving crimes.
