A FANTASTIC 15TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR
Over 1,000 people of all ages and backgrounds attended the study groups,
programs and special diversity events held this last year by the Academy
for Lifelong Learning at Empire State College in Saratoga Springs,
New York.
A.L.L. also received wonderful support from area businesses and organizations
that sponsored various diversity events. Saratoga Today, the local
newspaper and Star 101.3 radio station, the program media sponsors,
gave them great publicity with feature articles, newspaper ads, radio
interviews and public service announcements.
The program also forged new community partnerships over this last
year. The Chinese Community Center, the local Indian community for
the Culture of India and the Albany Set Dancing Club are new resources
for A.L.L. programs.
A.L.L. also formed their first intergenerational partnership. They
worked with the local high school’s Graphic Design class to
produce the eye-catching posters, post cards and programs for the
Culture of India and Irish events.
The Office of College Relations at Empire State College funded their
beautiful special anniversary year program brochures and the college
print shop handled the production of the brochures as well as the
marketing pieces for the India and Irish events.
Congratulations to A.L.L. for a fantastic 15th year and for demonstrating
how rewarding it is to work with both a program host and the local
community.
