From January through April, 2008, members of the Center for Learning
in Retirement (CLR) at Rock Valley College in Illinois will be able
to take part in a special fitness program designed especially for
them. The Golden Eagles Fitness Program is a joint collaboration between
the Center for Learning in Retirement and the Division of Fitness,
Wellness, and Sport at Rock Valley College. The Golden Eagles Fitness
Program provides CLR members the opportunity to exercise independently
on a regular basis, under the supervision of expert staff from the
fitness and sport medicine fields.
The Golden Eagles Program offers:
Use of the equipment and facilities in the Physical Education Center
(PEC) at Rock Valley College, including:
• Cardiovascular exercise machines and indoor track (1/10th
mile)
• Weight-lifting machines and free weights; treadmills
• Instructor-led group sessions for strength training and flexibility
• Balance stations
• Heart rate monitors
• Instructors to guide and assist with independent exercise
routines
• Class three times a week – one hour in duration.
Cost for the entire program is $90, and this fee includes all instruction,
information materials and use of the RVC fitness equipment.
