10th ANNIVERSARY
Congratulation to Seniors Active in Learning (SAIL)
at Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas. They are celebrating
their 10th Anniversary year. With over 350 members, SAIL is offering
a wealth of programming for this special year, which started off on
a high note with their Back-to-School party in September. Among the
courses being offered are Pulitzer Prize Winning Novels of the Civil
War, Italian Art and Speak Spanish Creatively. They also offer a series,
Visiting Professors, that is so popular this is the 9th time it has
been offered. Well Done SAIL!
ALIROW CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY
ALIROW, the Association of Learning in Retirement in the West, celebrated
its 20th anniversary this year at the biennial conference in April hosted
by the Renaissance Society in Sacramento. ALIROW predates EIN by a couple
of years, and we send them hearty congratulations.
NEW LEARNING CENTER
Congratulations to the Academy of Lifelong Learning at Cape Cod Community
College in Massachusetts. They opened their new learning center in October
with a gala ribbon cutting ceremony. A.L.L. members raised the money
to renovate classroom space at the college – space that will be
dedicated entirely to their program.
