their 20th Anniversary over the coming year. A number of events, including
a gala dinner, are being planned to commemorate this special occasion.
The theme of the anniversary year is “Honoring the Past, Embracing
the Future.” Congratulations, A.L.L.!
OLLI MEMBERSHIP SOARS
This past spring marked another milestone for the Osher Lifelong Learning
Institute at the University of S. Maine in Portland. They added their
1000th member. 84-year-old Alice Steele was presented a certificate
from Advisory Board Chairman, David Murray, saluting her status as the
1000th OLLI member. Alice is not new to OLLI. She first joined in 2005
and renewed her membership this spring when signing up for a class.
We congratulate her and all of the other OLLI member for making OLLI
at USM one of the largest OLLIs in the nation.

Q REVIEW PUBLISHED
Congratulations to the QUEST program in New York City for publishing
the 12th volume of the Q Review. This volume is “dedicated
to all the members of QUEST: both the founding members, those brave
souls who undertook to create a peer-learning program where our thirst
for knowledge would be unimpeded by strict rules imposed by others,
who signed on to create this organization and to find a location with
an academic setting, and to those earliest members who joined them and
contributed to the building of this organization, and to our newest
members who appreciate what those stalwart pioneers created which endures
to this day.”
