LLI PROGRAMS HIGHLIGHTED
Congratulations to the following LLIS that were spotlighted in the spring
2006 issue of the National Retired Teachers Association (NRTA)
Live & Learn AARP publication. They are the Osher Lifelong Learning
Institute at S. Maine University in Portland, Harvard ILR, the Osher Institute
for Learning in Retirement at Duke, the PLATO Society of UCLA, and the

SENIOR ACADEMY SPOTLIGHTED
Congratulations to the Senior Academy at the University of Florida,
Sarasota, Manatee. They were recently featured in a new USF Bay
Bulletin discussing the many different opportunities on the new
campus. The article, Lifetime Learners: Seasoned Seniors Stay Young
by Staying in School, was a very comprehensive inside look at Senior
Academy and the role it plays on the campus.
OLLI MAKES THE INTERNET
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Southern
Maine in Portland was recently featured on Time Warner’s Internet
Magazine “Around Town.” The reporter spent the day with
the program, seeing it in action. He visited a variety of classes including
Tai Chi, Elementary Drawing, Crown Royal, Modern Biology for the Non-Scientist
and the Creation of Modern Italy. After lunch with members he dropped
in on Chess for Seniors and Choral Singing. To read the article visit

10th ANNIVERSARY CONGRATULATIONS
QUEST, A Community for Lifelong Learning in New York City recently celebrated
its 10th Anniversary with a Gala Luncheon. During the past year their
membership increased and the curriculum grew accordingly. During the
upcoming year QUEST will be moving to a new luxurious location in the
heart of Wall Street. Congratulations QUEST!
