ALR DONATES TO LIONS CLUB
Congratulations to the Academy for Learning in Retirement at Empire State
College in New York. During last spring they donated over 100 pairs of
eyeglasses to the Lions Club. The local Lions club sends over 8,000 pairs
of glasses, annually to one of four distribution centers in the U.S.,
from which they are sent to Mexico, South America and other underdeveloped
areas.
OLLI MEMBERS NAMED GRAND LIFE MASTER
Dick Budd, a member of the OLLI program at the University of S. Maine
in Portland, has been named Grand Life Master by the American Contract
Bridge League. He is the first and only Grand Life Master in Maine.
He offered his expertise to OLLI members this past fall by leading a
basic bridge course. Congratulations, Dick!
