Elderhostel : Accommodations

We Take Care of the Details So You Don't Have To

Whether it is offering diverse accommodations, preparing meals infused with local flavor, or having caring staff, we take care of the details so you can enjoy your program.

Quality, Care and Comfort

From well-appointed city hotels to country inns, from conference and retreat centers to lodges, cabins aboard vessels, and even safari tents, Elderhostel accommodations are comfortable, pleasant, and well suited to the program. Most programs offer single room options, and almost all accommodations – whether single or double – offer private bathrooms.

Food For Thought
Food is an expression of culture, so meals give you the opportunity to enjoy regional cuisine infused with local flavor. You may dine in your hotel, restaurants, shipboard dining rooms, or have outdoor picnics. In areas with numerous options, a few meals may be deducted from the program cost so you can explore local restaurants on your own, but these exceptions are always noted in advance in the program description.

Don't Take Our Word For It - See What Our Participants Have To Say

• "The accommodations were excellent. My cozy room and the delicious and delightfully served meals were great. Thank you so much for making this all such a rewarding experience for me."

• "The food was excellent. It was varied, with two entrees at every meal, lots of vegetables, a great salad bar, four kinds of soda, three kinds of milk (chocolate, 2%, and skim), deserts and a lot more. Everything was delicious."

• "Perhaps a key word for Elderhostel is 'comfortable'. It describes the pace, the facilities, the participants who come from all parts of the country, and their reception of the program. The programs are always outstanding. We've attended five now, and that has been true of every one."

• "Elderhostel people are warm and wonderfully young in spirit. They reached out to me at every opportunity to make me feel part of the whole, even though I arrived alone. I found myself wearing an infectious grin all the time."

• "I'm glad that I decided to try a program. The staff was efficient, the accommodations were comfortable, the food was good, the cost was reasonable, and it was great talking and sharing stories with the other members of our program. I've already recommended Elderhostel to all of my friends, and am looking forward to my next Elderhostel experience."
