Learning is at the heart of Elderhostel. We believe that sharing new ideas, challenges, and experiences is rewarding in every season of life.

Our participants come from diverse backgrounds to learn together and seek a richer understanding of subjects ranging from the ecology of Madagascar to the plays of William Shakespeare. All share a love of learning and a curious, adventurous spirit.

Our faculty includes university professors, noted academic specialists, museum professionals, and local scholars. Lectures are complemented by field trips and cultural excursions that provide a close-up look at the lecture topics. Learning by listening and seeing, lively discussion, and hands-on experience is the Elderhostel way.

Our programs require no previous educational background and offer no credits. There is no homework and there are no tests or grades. There is simply the chance to broaden your mind, enrich your life, and share new experiences.
