BOSTON, November 1 — Elderhostel,
Inc. is pleased to announce that doctoral students researching
lifelong and later-life learning may now apply for the 2007 Elderhostel
K. Patricia Cross Doctoral Research Grant. This $5,000 scholarship
honors the work of Dr. K. Patricia Cross, former Elderhostel Board
Member and Professor Emerita at the Graduate School of Education
at the University of California, Berkeley.
Elderhostel, founded in 1975 and a leader in the field of lifelong
learning, is the world’s largest not-for-profit educational
travel organization for older adults. Elderhostel will award this
competitive grant to a doctoral candidate in education, psychology,
gerontology, social work, neuroscience or a related discipline,
whose research will have a significant impact on the field of
lifelong or later-life learning. Elderhostel encourages any doctoral
student in these fields, whose dissertation research involves
lifelong or later-life learning to apply for this unique scholarship.
